i really like the idea of the news animation! i think that its a great idea as we wouldnt be restricted by lyrics and timing of music and it would actually end up being a documentary piece of work too - something that has a purpose if we wanted to put it in our portfolios as well as being a laugh!

i think ben hamilton and someone else did some think similar last summer - but it wasnt an animation it was a book they made up of photos, drawings or graphics based on a different word they choose every day - one choose the word one day and the other choose the next day. it worked really well as there was one word that linked both of there pieces of work. i think it might be a good idea to do something similar

either:

we could choose to animate the same story every week (you choose one week i choose the next week) so something links our animations no matter what styles they're in and if we set ourselves time limits both our animations could be played side by side and they would document the same story but in different styles

or

we animate a different story each week and pass it over - so i link my next animation on to the end of yours and you link my animation to your next story - so we'll end up with two separate animations with different stories that will both alternate between your style and mine.

or

we could do a mixture of the two ideas and both animate the same story and pass it over so the animations alternate but it documents the same story.

what do you recon?

So Hannah what should we do?

I have some ideas. give me your feedback on them!

* we both animate as much as we can in a week for a chosen song and both post our efforts up.
eg Week one I choose Hard Day's Night by the Beatles and we each do that, Week Two you choose Meatloaf-Bat out of hell (lol!) and we both do that.

The drawback is that to do a whole song in a week would be extremely hard, and stuff always looks better when it's complete so I am not sure if this idea would be very satisfying.

* Time limit of 30 seconds (or maybe one minute?) of animation, and we just choose something in the news that week. So it could still have music with it, but could be serious or lighthearted depending on what you felt like doing that week.

* Um, thats it so far. And I still havnt actually reinstalled Flash.
